Celebrating Coach Richard Ware

Over 40 years ago, Richard Ware founded the Chicago Hoop Squad, which began decades of service to others and betterment of our communities. On September 16, 2017 we came together to thank and honor him.

Started in the early 1970s, the Chicago Hoop Squad Youth Basketball Organization - with its group of dedicated role models, professionals, former Englewood residents and volunteers - mentors the youth that participate in the organization on education, discipline, personal hygiene, character building, value orientation, and social responsibility.
